Gina, Gina… Your ~right, industry does use almost 2/3 of the water demand (but it’s closer to 60%) AND as a previous city engineer at the Water dept, I helped negotiated water surcharge contracts between the city and large volume water users (industry) and trust me they do pay their fair share. The problem is simple CLIMATE (sustained no rain in the reservoir) and NON action from city council- we have been talking about desalination since before I started working there. I have personally managed two huge grants one from the federal government and one from the state studying and reporting that desalination is the best option for the future. The desalination plant should have been built years ago and still needs to happen starting at the same time as we need these wells drilled for temporary relief but the long term option is desal. AND I’m just gonna say since no one will- just like we did successfully building Mary Rhodes pipeline, a 101 mile pipeline from the lower Colorado river (in Bay city) to the Corpus Christi—that is now saving us- we need to work with the port of corpus Christi and the nueces river authority and industry partners, NOW, with no egos!!!! #water #corpuschristi

Good point, but the State Board of Education and SBEC in 2025 approved the teacher residency program; a new model of teacher preparation and the legislature through HB2 in the 89th #txlege passed several funded partnership initiatives with educator preparation programs and school districts + accountability for those EPPs entrusted with preparing teachers. Working on policy developments for HB2 would yield much fruit. @TXSBOE #txed @teainfo

@LjforTexas @MikeJoh14725926 @teainfo @TXSBOE I did a lot of research on math curricula and love John Saxon. He was a math teacher who got sick and tired of ineffective math programs so he wrote his own. We don't need a new curriculum every couple of years, that only makes publishers rich. Saxon is still on the market.

Public School District Leaders: A Warning. The Texas Education Agency @teainfo is dangling Bluebonnet for free as a curriculum to choose from. Don't do it. It is nothing but scripted lessons. They sent someone from a company called Great Minds. We thought they were there to help. It turns out they do walk-throughs, and if you do something wrong, they report to TEA about you like little Nazis. Don't fall for the trap that TEA set.
