Bishop Lobsinger hosted a BBQ at his residence for seminarians and men discerning the priesthood. Dcn. William Meehan (centre) was ordained on July 5th to the transitional diaconate by Bishop Crosby in Rome and will be returning to Rome to complete his studies for the priesthood.

The Young Adults Night in August was held at St. Mary of the Visitation Hespeler. There were attendees from the parish as well as parishes in Hamilton, Brantford, Oakville and Guelph. Brother Dan Leckman S.J. gave an inspiring vocation testimony about religious life and humility.

Happy Feast Day to all the Priests of and serving in the Diocese of Hamilton. May God renew each of you in your zeal for God and His people. Like St. Jean Vianney, by your life and ministry, continue to show our world the way to Heaven.

God chose to enter into our human history the most difficult way possible: the cross. This way, no one could ever be so desperate and not to be able to find Him, even in the midst of anguish and abandonment. God arrived in the very place we didn't think He could be.

It is disturbing that the vast majority of talk about Sacred Scripture and the Catechism these days is about attempts to refute what they teach. They should be reforming us, not vice versa. As disciples we need to drink deeply, lovingly, and obediently of the Word of God.

Everyone can discover in #SaintJoseph a man who goes unnoticed, a man whose daily presence is discreet and hidden, an intercessor, a support, and a guide in difficult moments.

If discouragement overwhelms you, think of the faith of Joseph; if anxiety has its grip on you, think of the hope of Joseph; if exasperation or hatred seizes you, think of the love of Joseph, who was the first man to set eyes on the human face of God. — Benedict XVI
