South Florida has become a center of global attraction! @EndeavorMIA and Endeavor’s analytics team have partnered up to unveil key insights about the entrepreneurial migration that our region has experienced in the last few years. This migration is driven by factors well beyond just low taxes and quality of life. Endeavor identified over 300 firms, surveyed 50 migrant entrepreneurs, and conducted interviews with over 30 entrepreneurs and stakeholders in South Florida, resulting in a 65-page report, The research identified four main categories of entrepreneurial migrants: Domestic entrepreneurs with a US-based company who moved to South Florida. CEOs operating their companies remotely from South Florida. Foreign founders moving to South Florida from outside of the U.S. to start a new business. Individuals based abroad who moved to expand their company’s operations in the U.S. Interestingly, 34% of these newcomers are domestic entrepreneurs, while 24% are international expanders, 22% are foreign founders, and 20% are CEO migrants. Despite facing challenges, these entrepreneurs are drawn to South Florida for its expanding tech community, favorable regulatory environment, and its growing reputation as a financial center. The report also made several recommendations, including increasing connectivity in the ecosystem, enhancing STEM education, and providing support to underrepresented founders.
