It should be clear Sonic is cocky confident but never cocky arrogant.
Just to be clear because a lot are more angry at having Sonic acting like his arrogant Boom phase than being confidently cocky.

@AMiiinaFedora Cockiness literally invokes a constant level of annoyance to your peers. It’s constant because that is your personality if Sonic isn’t being cocky 100% of the time then he “IS NOT” a cocky person. It’s does not define his personality. Confidence does.

Everyone can get cocky, Sonic is no different. A few instances of Sonic being cocky, compared to the thousands of times he’s not, doesn’t mean it defines his character.

Side mouths are only a problem when the characters are yelling or facing straight forward. Sonic Team has already figured this out before but the model capabilities are genuinely so restrictive it's funny.
The main problem is centered around the lack of a dynamic mouth system.

@Ghostlight_15 Respectfully no, cocky and overconfidence are synonymous. “Confidence” and “cocky” are different. Ppl confuse the differences because it’s a fine line between them including arrogance

@LocalYapTV There's a difference between cocky and overconfident, or at least I think there is. Sonic can definitely be overconfident. He's not just an asshole tho (looking at you, fleetway).

@TheMistakery You confuse his cheeky nature with cockiness, they’re not the same. You don’t need to describe to me Sonic’s character cuz, trust me, we understand the same things about the character and I’m not dismissing it. It is incorrect to use cocky here even with the definition you shown

@LocalYapTV Why is the word cocky bad to use here? It means to be boldly and brashly confident. It’s an apt descriptor for when Sonic is non-chalant and even making a joke about pulling off insane feats. He’s not just sure about his skill, he’s playful about it, which cocky conveys.
