@acaciathorns @djnscotland 👋 Hi! Yes! I was (am?) a co-convener of the node. My partners had to step away for other responsibilities and I got overwhelmed organising on my own. There have been some false starts at getting regular meet-ups going again, now a few of us just vibe check in every 2 weeks.

@c_hewitt_ 2/2 I'm sitting with the realities of typical commissioning processes vs our promise not to create fictions to win money. Remaining authentic while having unconventional approaches isn't helping us pay the bills, but it's a good way to weed in who our people are.

@c_hewitt_ I happened to be writing a response to feedback we got about an unsuccessful bid when your article popped up. Bid was unsucessful in part because we didn't over sell ourselves or create quantitative fictions about how we'd deliver a project. 1/2

@BenHolliday Been sitting with this question b/c I'm hand-wringing about how gov up here nefariously misrepresents 'co-design'. I think it depends on how high fidelity one expects textbook design to be in institutions. Is this just what design in gov looks like when it's been captured?

This is part of some good work at GDS, but I’m increasingly seeing things that are just ideation workshops/sessions being labelled design sprints. What do other people think about this? #govdesign designnotes.blog.gov.uk/2023/01/09/how…
