RIO ALL NIGHTER Gash! Raising funds for The Rio Cinema. 20TH JULY A celebration of underground culture, nightlife and community, for one night only within a space we cannot lose. The Rio Cinema. @riocinema We’ll be taking over The Rio for a special fundraising event, a late night goth club, photography exhibition and film screening. All proceeds from the event will go to keeping the doors open of this beloved cultural institution, and any donations will be received with gratitude! With DJs in Screen One and at the bar, underground music documentaries in Screen Two, a photography exhibition sprawling through the corridors and foyer, featuring Derek Ridgers iconic documentation of subculture and nightlife, Yasmine Akim’s beautiful work following the essential London club INFERNO, and the Kaos Archive. Stage Invasion! Our DJs and dancers will take over the Screen One stage. Artists from the legendary London clubs Kaos, Ziber, Fold and Cosey Club bring their dark energies to the fore, joined by the inimitable Katie Shannon (NTS/So Low/etc), the outstanding Wes Baggaley, and the hard bitten Gash! Residents, Ruby Quick (Muscle Up) and Proteus. Our late night cinema will be screening Kevin Hegge’s Tramps, documenting the birth of the New Romantic era, as well as more TBA!
