The original post by Newsom is referring to gun control and the post you replied to refers to children in relation to gun violence. Bringing up abortion does not address problems and/or solutions with the post.

Ban assault weapons for civilians. Mandate universal background checks. Raise the age to purchase a gun to 21. Create a mandatory waiting period to purchase a gun.
