He's from Deltarune's world, like highkey Gaster's always been more of a Deltarune character than an Undertale character, everything important about him ties back to Deltarune and his role there, including his family

@Icantbeliev23 by gaster, yes, he's already experienced the fate of this world and the prophecy aims to change said fate through the final tragedy

@Icantbeliev23 the roaring immediately happens if the player gives up, i don't think it's far-fetched to say that things in the old world didn't exactly work just like the new world

@LogicalRatio_ And someone is gonna cause the roaring it’s not gonna happen naturally, if this adventure never happened, I highly doubt anyone would cause it

@LogicalRatio_ If gaster came here before the catastrophe that caused him to leave in the first place, that means there should be another gaster that was him before he experienced the catastrophe.

@Icantbeliev23 How does it imply two gasters if i've only been talking about one gaster experiencing all of this And nothing truly indicates that the roaring can only happen because of the prophecy, in fact it seems to just be the status quo of the world

@LogicalRatio_ That would still mean that’s there’s two gasters, and that other version of gaster before the castastrophe would have live with sans and papyrus. Also I’m pretty sure the roaring will only happen because of the prophecy’s existence

@Icantbeliev23 i don't think he had a choice or chance to bring them with him, his world was reaching the state of oblivion (metatextually toby abandoning the original deltarune project in 2012 without finishing a single room) and he was the only one whom could've escaped

@LogicalRatio_ Another thing that stops it from making any sense is the question of why and how gaster would go to the UT verse before sans and papyrus?

@Icantbeliev23 not really, i think that gaster lived in the old world of deltarune, made & used the machine to escape it's catastrophe, went to undertale, and eventually shattered himself across time and space to go back to his world and bring forth a new future for it with the prophecy

@MushroomWarning It's mainly because i believe TFM to be the cumulative memory/remnant of Gaster's past self— which he wanted to erase for the sake of his idealized self, it's why they present themselves so "differently" IMO, they're the same man from different periods of his life
