The sad truth that's plagued FFXIV ranked PVP since its conception. Player base is so small you're guaranteed to get one of your little buddies on yours or the enemy team. Everyone knows it and it's rarely ever addressed in an official capacity.

Enjoying NA ranked can be difficult because for a few seasons now there has been a group of players who will queue sync together in the solo only ranked mode to manipulate the board. It makes going for rank 1 impossible as these players will take turns boosting each other. 1/2

@spice1721 o/ i have trouble speaking without severe inflamation and soreness, so i use TTS instead. There are a lot of options for TTS these days! :-] I use a setup which is TTS + Sent message to twitch and also on screen captions! it can feel limiting but you can get really creative!

@Lolly_PopsVT To be fair for a while, it was mostly an NA problem in the past. The shit you got from the EU community if you fucked with a single match was not worth the hassle. Now from what I'm learning it's an everywhere problem because there's so much restraint in doing the right thing.

@FullHeartGrit This is a multi-layer problem, yeah it ends at the inner circle but it starts with SE. the CC onboarding is pretty diabolical and "instant gratification/no losers" means people climb WAY too fast and never even get experience. crystal shouldn't be the starting floor to "get good"

@Lolly_PopsVT I think one of the problems is that new players will join the game mode and then be harassed/griefed by bad actors because they not instantly good at the game mode and sadly it chases a lot of new people away and then people wonder why the game mode has so few players
