It would be more cumbersome and enclaves like to only have small amounts of code, stateproofs allow us to achieve the same outcome of validating the chain without needing to hold the entire state. The only downside is we need to wait for the next proof before accepting a txn which takes a while sometimes

@pedromeves Developing light clients in enclaves is really tough. Would need to ask the dev team directly probably: 1. Figuring out the state proof validation and getting this running in SGX 2. After we got the PoW light client working on ETH changing this over to ETH 2.0 PoS

@DragonFi_Realm @AlgoNautilus The problems with validating state proofs directly in a contract (solidity in this case) are: 1. The complexity of the validation logic leading to an unmanageable gas fee 2. The need for a solution in the other direction ETH -> Algo But we will keep an eye on these assumptions

The governance process does not need to be controlled by hotkeys which we view as the main risk in bridges. Can be a multisig or contract based, whatever is appropriate for the amount of funds secured.
