I’m happy you are here. Just know that I’m not loyal to your team. Democrats: I am also anti-MAGA and I have despised Trump since he was spreading racist rumors about Obama and a fake birth certificate. Let me finish that thought before you clap. There were plenty of non-racist, fact-based reasons to be enraged at Obama and the rest of the statist establishment Democratic Party. Republicans: I was once a Republican and I speak Conservative fluently. I love nothing more than to use philosophical conservatism against modern authoritarian conservatives. It’s a hobby. I’m relentless. A few of you will like me anyway. Many of you will get frustrated and call me a misogynistic slur or fall into ad hominem attacks about my day job. If it gets to that point, please know I relish in your outrage. Libertarians: Madison and Jefferson were close friends and we’ll probably get along in a similar way. My institutionalist instincts and opinions about instability being a back door to tyranny might make you itch occasionally. And while I firmly stand by free markets and limited government, I don’t take my communion at the Misesian church. Socialists: Well… um… I suppose we agree that we want what’s best for our fellow humans, and would like society to flourish. You’re not going to be at all happy with most of what I say beyond that. I have volunteered, voted, and donated to all three of the largest political parties. I am currently registered to vote with one of them. I’ll let you guess which. I’m very excited to agree and disagree with everyone in endless combinations.

When you throw the first gerrymander punch... In response, your opponent throws a knockout punch... And then you whine about getting hit... There's a term for it. You're a bitch.

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) created a secret court that approves government surveillance. After 9/11, that dangerous power expanded dramatically. Today the government can collect emails, digital communications, and phone metadata without a traditional warrant. FISA weakens the Fourth Amendment protection against unreasonable searches.

People don't realize: the expectation that we just shut up about our jobs, that we always keep them secret - that is whore stigma too. We must be allowed to be out among other adults. Period.

I use to attend a lot of multiple sclerosis peer support groups and recently left one for their whorephobia. If you think I'm only going to be in the group to talk about MS, and symptoms of MS and how hard it is to have MS. Plus how hard it is be on disability with MS.

I actually agree with this. It needs to be an arms race until states begin making compacts with one another to stop it. Interstate agreements for competitive maps is the solution. What we don’t need is a federal law, though. Keep it between the states. We don’t want whoever controls DC deciding on fairness.

Gerrymandering is undemocratic and evil. And it's essential the party that has repeatedly tried to ban it keeps doing it until the party that historically abused it gets curb stomped so badly they cry uncle and agree to the ban. These are not contradictory positions to hold.

@ewallis740 Indeed. Minority districts protect minorities. But that’s not the same as partisan gerrymandering.

@LondonRiverSFW To a degree gerrymandering is a necessary safeguard to assure certain groups get representation. I have seen districting models that would assure population centers of minority groups (blue) get divided among districts dominated by red leaving them unrepresented.

Gerrymandering is evil. But Republicans getting mad at Democrats over redistricting decisions is rich. Did everyone conveniently forget REDMAP in 2010? It was literally a multi-state Republican gerrymandering project. If you are mad that Democrats are reversing fair map rules, perhaps you ought to have demanded your red states pass nonpartisan redistricting laws. Multiple blue states have had nonpartisan redistricting by law. Red states haven’t. And until now, Republicans have been perfectly fine with that.

We wouldn't accept this kind of word salad nonsense from any other president, so why do we continue to excuse it for Trump? He's brought us more debt, more wars, and higher prices.

TRUMP ON TIM COOK: I have always been a big fan of Tim Cook, and likewise, Steve Jobs, but if Steve was not taken from the Planet Earth so young, and ran the company instead of Tim, the company would have done well, but nowhere near as well as it has under Tim. For me it began with a phone call from Tim at the beginning of my First Term. He had a fairly large problem that only I, as President, could fix. Most people would have paid millions of dollars to a consultant, who I probably would not have known, but who would say that he knew me well. The fees would be paid but the job would not have gotten done. When I got the call I said, wow, it’s Tim Apple (Cook!) calling, how big is that? I was very impressed with myself to have the head of Apple calling to “kiss my ass.” Anyway, he explained his problem, a tough one it was, I felt he was right and got it taken care of, quickly and effectively. That was the beginning of a long and very nice relationship. During my five years as President, Tim would call me, but never too much, and I would help him where I could. Years latter, after 3 or 4 BIG HELPS, I started to say to people, anyone who would listen, that this guy is an amazing manager and leader. He makes these calls to me, I help him out (but not always, because he will, on occasion, be too aggressive in his ask!), and he gets the job done, QUICKLY, without a dime being given to those very expensive (millions of dollars!) consultants around town who sometimes get it done, and sometimes don’t. Anyway, Tim Cook had an AMAZING career, almost incomparable, and will go on and continue to do great work for Apple, and whatever else he chooses to work on. Quite simply, Tim Cook is an incredible guy!!!
