I’m making 2-3 moves this week and of course want to remain flexible to all chip strategies. But I don’t like the idea of ignoring Newcastle simply because they may blank in GW34 (should I go FH33-WC35). I’m glad I saved up to 5FT. Probably won’t overthink who I buy this week!

Starting the NY with a hit 😅 VVD ➡️ Gabriel O’Reilly ➡️ Tarko Thiago ➡️ Bowen Ekitike ➡️ DCL (-4) Fixtures aren’t great but I just don’t want to wait for Gabriel. Next 3 concede a lot of attempts from set pieces & don’t want to pay 6.6+ for him next week or so. Don’t like selling Ekitike, the 💰 needs to come from somewhere though. I’m hoping the BOU game is a basketball match, Saka actually gets involved and doesn’t donate the pen 🙏🏼 With this amount of movement, lots of things could backfire. Hoping the variance gods are in my favour. GL all

@FPL_Pickle Hi Pickle, any thoughts on who to bench out of O'Reilly and Anderson (Forest)? My defence is VVD, Timber, Andersen. Midfield is Saka, Bruno, Foden, Wilson. Currently have O'Reilly as first bench in case Timber is out. But feels like he could do well against Palace!

Viktor Gyökeres (& Bukayo Saka at the end): Good at exploiting space in behind & those quick transitional situations, where he can hit the channel/empty space. * However… He isn’t the associative type (doesn’t combine in tight spaces particularly well). Has struggled physically at times in the PL. Doesn’t have the widest array of box finishes (both ground and aerially). Including ones which require you to take the chance in a, calculated yet very quick manner/reactively. His body also seems a little rigid (opposite of Ekitike). * And… Newcastle (A) - GW6 Fulham (A) - GW8 Crystal Palace (H) - GW9 (West Ham in GW7 appears to be very good) Those three fixtures aren’t really ones which align with his strengths. Newcastle - Very, very physical affair, and you can expect a variation of a 451/541 after their man to man (high) press. Fulham - Similar to what they did against Manchester United? 532? Cut lanes to limit progression in the middle, deep line, physical CBs. Crystal Palace - Most inform team in the world it would seem. Really, really difficult to break down. * This isn’t to say he can’t return, or that he won’t return. Whilst I’ve left some criticisms, it’s hardly like he’s a 0/10 in any of those regards. They are just not strengths of his, and all three traits are particularly useful against the blocks to come. * Which is all to say, is he actually worth the money before GW10? Would the extra £0.8m on Bukayo Saka, who’s probably more suited to returning in all three of those fixtures, be better? I think it could be if you’re not picking Foden on a WC (otherwise it’s very hard with the current template). Something to consider. Best of luck regardless.
