@GovBobFerguson Voting by mail is dangerous. Why are you so scared of turning over the voter rolls?

Washington state's tax system asks the most of those with the least. I signed the Millionaires' Tax to rebalance that unfair system.

We will do everything we can to mitigate the impacts of the Big Betrayal Bill from President Trump and the MAGA Congress. This week, I signed our budget into law. It backfills the Planned Parenthood funding that they blocked. In Washington state, we protect women's health care.

@NFLonCBS @NFL why is he still in the game? Doesn’t matter that officials didn’t see it live. It’s in camera. He needs to be ejected and suspended.

Sir, I received your dispatch and must report it reads less like sober counsel and more like a man firing volleys into his own campfire just to feel the warmth. Cougs are well acquainted with hard marches and short rations—no sermon is required to remind us that fortunes in modern athletics turn quicker than a cavalry horse on frozen ground. But I’ll speak plain: telling a fanbase to “enjoy the euphoria while you can” in the very hour of a new commander’s arrival is unbecoming, unnecessary, and frankly inappropriate. It’s not analysis—it’s spite dressed up as wisdom. If you’ve critique to offer, save it for the field reports. Today is for the town to raise a banner, shake hands, and believe. STAND DOWN SIR Respectfully—yet firmly— General Kirby Moore
Dave Nichols SR@DNicholsSR

If you're a Coug, enjoy the euphoria while you can. I hope Moore is a generational hire, but in the modern college athletics landscape, it's fleeting--especially hiring an up-and-coming 35-year-old.

@Genmoorecougs General Moore, while noble to admit error, there are cynics and arm chair sergeants in every battery. Ignore the noise. Focus on the men you need on your front lines to win the battle ahead The leaders and the ones in the trench

General Mullen, Allow me to correct myself with the clarity and conviction this matter deserves. I misspoke earlier—and that fault is mine alone. But let there be no confusion now. The new Pac-12 is superior to the Mountain West in every measure that matters. It is not a league assembled for convenience, but one forged with purpose—programs with history, expectation, resources, and the will to contend on a national stage. This is where pressure lives, where standards are enforced, and where Saturdays carry consequence. The Mountain West is respectable ground. The Pac-12 is commanding terrain. One prepares you to compete; the other demands that you win. We did not arrive here seeking shelter. We arrived to lead, to raise the banner, and to remind the country what this conference will represent onward. I misspoke before. That’s on me. But the truth stands firm. With resolve, Gen. Kirby Moore Pullman, Washington

Cougar Nation, I write to you with clarity of purpose and respect for the moment before us. The men have one final engagement ahead — a bowl game in Boise — to be fought under the guidance of the former staff. It is right that they finish what they began, together, with pride and unity intact. Boise holds a special place in my own march. I know that ground well, and I wish the men nothing but strength, health, and resolve as they take the field. May they play fast, free, and with honor, representing the Crimson as it deserves. When that chapter closes, the real labor begins. Staff will be gathered. The roster will be settled. Winter will harden us, and spring will sharpen us. Every meeting, every lift, every rep will be taken with one destination in mind. Coincidentally, we had a stray at camp this morning. I assure you, Cougar Nation, he departed unharmed and without complaint. The same assurance cannot be extended to the Huskies who will line up across from us 264 days from now. The march is measured. The preparation is relentless. The standard is rising. #GoCougs — General Kirby Moore

To All Who Read the Dispatches, It has come to my attention that some find themselves troubled not by the substance of my words, but by the manner in which they are set to paper. Let us speak plainly. I am a football coach by trade, a steward of young men, a planner of campaigns measured in yards and quarters—not a man who claims solitary mastery of ink and parchment. Like generals, governors, and commanders long before me, I rely upon trusted aides to help translate intent into eloquence. I speak the vision. They sharpen the blade. This is neither deception nor novelty. History itself is written by such arrangements. Kings had scribes. Commanders had adjutants. Even the gods, as history tells it, had writers to record their deeds and give them voice beyond the moment. Leadership has never been a solo act. I hold great respect for those rare souls who require no such assistance, who summon poetry unaided and carve prose from silence. That is a gift. But to suggest that refusing tools is virtue, or that using them is weakness, is to misunderstand how progress is made. Those who reject resources out of pride are often bound for failure, while those who employ them wisely endure. If this arrangement unsettles you, I offer no rebuttal beyond this: you are free to move on. The work will continue regardless. My concern is not how the message is delivered, but that it is clear, resolute, and true. The standard is excellence, not authorship. And most importantly, Go f’ing Cougs! Respectfully, General Moore

I'm proposing $244 million in investments in affordable housing — the largest ever in a supplemental budget. We'll quickly develop new affordable rental units, protect existing affordable housing in the wake of flooding, and support first-time homebuyers.

My dear Brother Kellen, I write to you from a cold hilltop town where crimson banners snap sharply in the winter wind and the earth itself seems to hum with memory. It is a strange thing to stand here now as the appointed commander, when not so long ago we were merely boys huddled near the hearth, speaking in hopeful whispers of this very place. Do you remember how the name Washington State carried across our childhood like a distant drumbeat? We wore its colors long before we understood the weight they bore. Even then, we believed this land meant something—that it stood for grit, for patience, and for men who earned what they kept. Now fate has marched me back here, musket in hand, entrusted with a regiment that knows hardship but refuses surrender. The people are cautious, yet their eyes are bright. They have seen banners fall and be raised again, and still they gather. That alone tells me this post is worth defending. I know your own campaigns keep you far from these hills, yet I feel your presence in every step. Whatever strength I possess was forged beside you—two brothers sharpening one another, dreaming not of glory, but of doing things the right way. Should history judge this appointment kindly or harshly, know this: I have come home not for ambition, but for duty. And if this stand is to be my finest hour, it will be because of the lessons learned long ago—together. Give my regards to your camp. What a glorious victory over Queen Charlotte’s men. I trust we shall speak again when the dust settles and the season’s final battles are fought. —Kirby P.S. I saw Mother and Father today, and they are in good health and steady spirits. All is well in Prosser, and the home fires burn as they always have. P.P.S. The wine in Prosser remains as strong and honest as the soil itself—ample enough to warm a man through winter, and dangerous only if one forgets his duties the following morning.
