"too shallow for any serious philosopher to adopt" sounds a whole lot like "No True Philosopher would take that seriously"... which seems very fallacious. It's a good thing Camus was no serious philosopher.

@NefasQS Where I went to school the librarian wasn't a teacher. Library wasn't a class. When we were learning how to write papers our English teacher took us to the library and taught us how to use the card catalogue. I'm pretty sure our librarian was a school assistant, not a teacher.

feeling devastated by all the women my age sharing that they’d been hoping to have kids soon or at some point and now don’t see a future where that’s possible. both because of the kind of world they’d be bringing a child into and the increased danger with abortion bans.

@TrolleyDave1971 @YouTube I have many critiques of the conclusory criticisms, and the assertions being made. Primarily that, well, the falsification argument application and the assertion of "negative faith" are... well... absurd, and kind of just prove the point of the whole concept.

@GinnyMcDonald8 Yeah, that's the worst thing. I'm still 100% sure that it's 9, and that everyone else saying 1 is just wrong. But there is still something in the back of my mind saying 'but everyone else says it's 1, so it's probably you'!

@TrolleyDave1971 Oreder of operations has you distribute the factors first. you have a binomial expression here. 2(1+2) takes priority over multiplication and division. You must first distribute the 2 to the parenthetical. 2(1)=2 2(2)=4, now you are left with (4+2)/6 which is 6/6=1.
