What if, hypothetically, a rival organization to FIFA is formed and they organize their own competition will FIFA force them to stop?

Contributed commentary to this piece, here are my thoughts in full - Tempers are flaring, especially among Nigerians, over South Africa’s recent xenophobic campaigns against Nigerians in South Africa. These targeted retaliatory campaigns are not particularly new. There were also calls to boycott the recent hit Netflix show The Polygamist, adapted from Zimbabwean Sue Nyathi’s novel and co-directed by Akin Omotosho, a Nigerian living in South Africa. About 7 years ago, a similar vitriolic exchange between the late South African rapper AKA and Nigerian Burna Boy was instigated by xenophobic behaviours at the time. The pop culture/showbiz space is hardly the place to stoke these fires; it's also not the best place to douse them. In the absence of any meaningful diplomacy by either Nigeria or South Africa, popular music icons are targeted for their complicit silence. I don't think it is the duty of musicians to play overtly political or diplomatic roles. It is, in fact, irresponsible of anyone to ask them to. Tyla does not represent the South African Government; her silence does not mean she agrees with the xenophobic vigilantes of her home country; she should not be targeted for Nigeria’s failure to address issues concerning their citizens living in the Diaspora. I suppose Tyla is also being targeted for her recent successes winning Grammy Awards in African music categories.

The message has been sent. 🦅❌ After massive backlash over xenophobia, Tyla has officially removed Nigeria from her A*POP World Tour schedule. But we can't stop at just cancelling entertainment. It's time to hit where it actually hurts. MTN, you are next on the list. 📉📱 👇

I remember how excited and hyped Arsenal fans were when they wanted to sign Eze. They’re doing the exact same thing now with Bruno Guimarães, completely forgetting how Eze turned out. I’ll be right there when it all falls apart.

Burna was issued a warning; threatened to be killed years ago if he ever stepped foot in SA over his stance against AKA’s xenophobic stance. what did you all do about it? Instead you crucified your own. We did absolutely nothing.. They didn’t care. He took it like a gee; moved on and still became a global star. You all forgot ? But my Nigerians will rather blame people that suddenly take a stance on an artiste that come from a country that constantly desecrate on your national identity and treat Africans in the most inhumane way. Nigeria is the republic of docile and complacent people. We only know how to blow grammar

@AjibolaFasola @TOlakotan When Nigeria and other Africans boycotted the Olympics, were people blacks not working for the blacks, were we not welcoming other whites? Why do you want a wholistic approach. Not everyone can afford to, but those who can let them!!

-Steal a phone in Ikeja, you are at risk of jungle justice. -Steal billions of Naira in government house, the citizens cower. -Stop a show of a 24 year old who is only trying to make bread, for being South African. -Do nothing about S.A expatriates in Abuja and Lagos I dare you to lead a protest, demanding the sack of all South African expats in Nigeria. Bullies, that is what you are, you want to feel good about yourself that you have done something.
