Speeding limits your reaction time and reduces the space you have to make safe decisions. Ride within the speed limit, stay alert and give yourself room to respond to changing conditions. #DriveLikeATexan

Lane filtering & splitting may be legal in some states, but not in Texas. Motorcycles may not operate between lanes of traffic moving in the same direction or pass a vehicle within the same lane. Know the law, ride predictably and help keep roads safer.#DriveLikeATexan

On Mother’s Day, take an extra moment to be mindful of others on the road. Every person on a motorcycle is someone’s mother, father, sibling, friend or grandparent. Look twice, stay alert and help every rider make it home safely. #DriveLikeATexan

Lane filtering is when a motorcycle moves between lanes of stopped or slow-moving traffic. In Texas, lane filtering is not legal. Riders should remain in their lane, follow traffic laws and ride responsibly. pic.twitter.com/S6mVPzDty4 #DriveLikeATexan

May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, a reminder to stay alert and look twice. Every motorcycle carries a life, and every rider depends on drivers staying aware. The message is simple: look twice, check your blind spots and never assume the lane is clear. #DriveLikeATexan

Motorcycles need extra space to stop safely. Following too closely reduces reaction time and increases risk, especially in sudden traffic changes. Give riders plenty of following distance, stay alert and adjust speed early when traffic slows #DriveLikeATexan

Standing water on the road can hide hazards and reduce traction for motorcycles. Slow down, stay smooth with all inputs, and avoid sudden braking or steering. Follow tire tracks when possible and avoid riding through deep puddles. #DriveLikeATexan

Riding with a passenger changes how a motorcycle handles, especially when braking and swerving. Take time to practice together in a parking lot with good traction so both rider and passenger understand how to move safely at controlled speeds. #DriveLikeATexan

Be cautious when leaving an intersection. Avoid being the first off the line while cross traffic is still coming to a stop. Give the intersection time to clear and allow the vehicle alongside you to proceed through the intersection before you. #DriveLikeATexan
