Ach, Sydney Devine. I introduced him onstage at the Commonwealth Games on Glasgow Green in 2014 (to the strains of Also sprach Zarathustra, of course). It was midday, and torrential rain, but the crowd went absolutely wild. I’ve never, ever seen a more adoring mob of baying fans.

Remembering Django Reinhardt, born on this day in 1910 in Liberchies, Pont-à-Celles, Belgium. Here he is with violinist Stéphane Grappelli and their band the Quintette du Hot Club de France performing "J'Attendrai" in 1938.

A small nice thing for the new year: our excellent @MOJOmagazine offer to new subscribers is back in play. Get 3 copies of MOJO for just £5 - 3 for $12.15 if you’re in the US (and thanks to everyone who took out a subscription in 2020; it really helped). greatmagazines.co.uk/mojo-magazine

Happy 115th birthday to our founder Moses Asch! Fun fact: Asch never deleted a single title from the Folkways catalogue. As he said, "Just because the letter J is less popular than the letter S, you don't take it out of the dictionary." 📷 Diana Davies/Rinzler Archives

@MikeDiver Also, not mundane to me but perhaps amusingly slight: when we were recording the second ctrlaltdelete EP at Chem19 the Delgados came in for a practice. @LordCutGlass didn't have a pick, so I produced one from my wallet and he said that he, "aspired to that level of organisation".

This is such a gorgeous song from Mr Woodward @LordCutGlass. The tempo of everything had slowed considerably by this point compared to our debut in 1995 and this was a great example of the weight that the slower song could carry I think...

I read about a couple who killed their son, the article was very scientific regarding the forensic applications and emphasis on good practice gaining convictions. The song is the other side, just the horrific emptiness. #TimsTwitterListeningParty
