The number 1 reason why people arent successful in ranked is because they don't have all their brawlers maxed. Let me explain: The most competitive mode requires you to be fully competitive ready, which means having all the answers you need when drafting. Having unmaxed brawlers, or not having brawlers unlocked, is a loss before you even start playing. I'm not saying it's impossible to play with unmaxed brawlers, or with off-meta options, but the average player, including me and including you, are not good enough to play competitively with off-meta options if the enemy is spam picking meta brawlers every game. We are not good enough to be playing brawlers without both gears, no gadget, no hyper, and no buffies. Its the equivalent of you being asked what 5+5 equals, and you look at your multiple choice answers and all you have is 7, 18, 9, and 22. You can get close with 9, but if the other kids have '10' in their options they will win. They will have the perfect answer, and you will have to try to compensate for the missing parts. And if both you and your teammates are answering incorrectly, it's a guaranteed loss. Drafting is part of ranked. Knowing what counters your enemies picks, or knowing what brawler's will best synchronize with your team's picks, or even just knowing what the meta is will not help you if your only option is a maxed out Hank and a maxed out Dynamike. I know it's expensive, but this is the most competitive game mode. This mode is MEANT for the dedicated, for those who have been playing for years, for those who are maxed. I highly recommend having at least 20 brawlers fully maxed, including all the buffies brawlers and whatever brawlers players like SpenLC or BobbyBS recommends. Some brawlers are pretty evergreen even after being balanced. Anyways, that's my rant for the day. If you enjoy playing, including losing, feel free to keep queuing up with trash brawlers picks that are unmaxed. All I'm saying is just don't expect to win without being carried.
