This is really pathetic. A whole Bishop essentially deciding that God needs editing. Every generation has wanted a more convenient Messiah. The Jews of the first century were not villains for rejecting Jesus. They were logical. They wanted a warrior king who would break the Roman occupation, restore the Davidic throne, and make Israel great again. It was a reasonable request. God said no. Jesus came preaching a kingdom not of this world. Not a political program or a liberation movement you could map onto a ballot. A kingdom that offended both the religious establishment and the revolutionary left of his day, the Pharisees and the Zealots alike found him unusable. Nothing has changed. This generation wants a Messiah too. One who validates every identity, challenges no behavior, and whose politics land somewhere between a TED talk and a progressive policy brief. And when the existing text will not produce that Messiah, the solution, apparently, is a new text. But then I must ask, who authors the Third Testament? Who is its Messiah? What is its atonement theology? Because a Christianity without the authority of Scripture is not a reformed Christianity. It is a new religion wearing an old name. Marcion of Sinope tried this in the second century. He found the God of the Old Testament too violent and proposed a truncated canon. The church did not debate him into nuance. They named it heresy and drew a line. The passages she finds problematic are real exegetical challenges that serious scholars have wrestled with for centuries. I have wrestled with them too, that wrestling is legitimate and necessary. But the conclusion that the New Testament is therefore not the Word of God is someone placing their cultural moment above the text rather than bringing the text to bear on their cultural moment. The gospel has never been comfortable. Not for slaveholders in 1860. Not for progressives in 2026. That discomfort is not a design flaw. Every generation manufactures the Messiah it wants, but the cross keeps producing the one it needs.
Protestia@Protestia

"The New Testament is NOT the word of God' UCC Bishop says we need a 'Third Testament' because the first two are 'problematic,' and contain bad theology. As a result, "we need to pull those pages out"

Over 95% of men in prison are there today directly or indirectly because of a woman! Nature has structured it in a manner that any and every man who initiates violence because of the women in his is guaranteed doom!!! If your wife, mother, and daughter cause you to initiate violence, especially in an uncontrolled manner like this, it’s only a matter of time… Fools exist for the glory of the wise.

A Turkish boxer murdered a florist in cold blood by punching him so hard that it shattered his skull. The victim’s sister had the audacity to share a photo of the fighter’s wife’s floral bouquet on the shop’s Instagram page. The woman got mad about it and sent her husband to confront the florist. The fighter lost his temper the instant the victim walked in and killed him on the spot. The florist had no idea anything was wrong.

The way ministry is presented in the New Testament, no one should be eager or quick to desire to be a pastor. Firstly, there is a direct warning against becoming a teacher because their judgment will be stricter: “Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.” — James 3:1 Then consider the stakes. You will be responsible for people’s souls: “They are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account.” — Hebrews 13:17 This alone should make anyone pause before desiring to be a pastor. What do you mean God will hold you accountable for the souls of men? And what if you fail? Paul speaks with terrifying clarity: “I am innocent of the blood of all of you, for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.” — Acts 20:26–27 The implication is sobering. Not preaching the whole counsel of God can amount to being guilty of their blood. See how high-stakes this gospel is? Apart from the eternal consequences, what about the daily experience of ministry? Being a minister means you take on suffering for the sake of the Church. Paul said: “Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake… filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church.” — Colossians 1:24 Then there is the tribulation appointed to ministers. Paul describes the apostles like this: “We have become a spectacle to the world… We have become, and are still, like the scum of the world, the refuse of all things.” — 1 Corinthians 4:9, 13 This imagery had cultural weight. In the Roman world, during disasters, those considered expendable were sacrificed to appease the gods. Paul says the apostles were treated like that. He goes further to describe the intensity of their suffering: “We were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself.” — 2 Corinthians 1:8 At times, prison felt like relief compared to the pressures of ministry. And yet, Paul would still say: “We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed… struck down, but not destroyed.” — 2 Corinthians 4:8–9 He also made it clear that this suffering is not accidental, but appointed: “That no one be moved by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are destined for this.” — 1 Thessalonians 3:3 This is the true picture of ministry. I assure you, no one who truly understands the New Testament would desire ministry unless compelled by God. I say this because of how quickly many people today want to start churches and lead ministries. Do they realize that failing to faithfully teach the truth places them under severe accountability? Do they understand the burden Paul spoke about? “There is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches.” — 2 Corinthians 11:28 I hope you are not going into ministry because of shallow motivations. Not for the exaggerated idea of “honor,” the admiration of people, the submission of members, the title, the money, or the aesthetics. Because when you stand before God to give account for the souls of men, none of those things will matter. You will stand before a holy God who cares deeply for His sheep. I pray God helps you.

@rayleigh225 @4vataruniverse Yeah I agree to that, I completely forgot about that part. Probably a woke writer wrote that part but at the same time it serves to make it canon, with the way the show ended everyone was sure they married but the comics prove otherwise and left it blank like TLOK did.

🇹🇷 A research team in Turkey believes they may have located Noah's Ark A boat-shaped formation sitting 6,500 feet up in the mountains of Ararat. 515 feet long. The exact dimensions described in Genesis chapter 6 using the Egyptian cubit. First spotted in 1959 by Turkish captain Ilhan Durupinar. The current team has been running advanced underground scans since 2019. They say the full findings will be revealed to the world soon. Between the UFO files loading and a possible Noah's Ark discovery, 2026 is shaping up to be something else... Source: @noahsarkscans

So these officers were accused of extortion, threats, and abuse. They get “apprehended” and the only photo released is them facing the wall? What exactly is the point of that? In countries where accountability is taken seriously, officers involved in misconduct are identified. Names are released. Faces are shown. The public knows who is being held responsible. But here, you hide their identities and expect people to just accept it? How are we supposed to trust this process? How do we even know these are the same officers? This doesn’t look like accountability. It looks like protection. Nigerians are not fools. We can see when something is being done properly and when it’s just for show. If you want public trust, then be transparent. Anything less only raises more suspicion.

What’s the point of making them turn their backs and hide their faces when you’re saying these are officers we already know? So how are we even sure these are the same people? There’s a particular officer people are looking for, someone who has caused serious harm and needs to be properly identified and held accountable. People want to actually see him, confirm he’s there, and know he’s facing consequences. I don’t know if this is official policy, but it honestly defeats the purpose. Transparency matters in situations like this, and covering their faces just raises more questions.

@BlessedGirl001 You give Katara little credit, remember she did this and had a face off against Toph in the show. Can’t say Katara will win but saying she gets out first is too much of a stretch.

These benders are all good. Based on what I've seen these benders do in the series, and from the question here, it says no avatar state for Korra, it didn't says Korra can't use other element. Azula in her right frame of mind can dodge or weave any brute attack from Toph, katara & Korra. Her Fighting skills without her bending is pretty good. Katara is a water bending master, We saw how she divide the ocean to save their air ship, we saw how she defeated Azula, but she's not a match for Toph. Toph learned earth bending from the Original Earthbenders – The BargerMoles. Her Siesmic sense is an advantage to her sight, she can metal bend, and she's the greatest earthbender of her prime. Now my Opinion: Katara in the series have not take on multiple opponents at once and won but the rest have. So when in this fight, Katara is the first to be unalived. Azula is a firebender prodigy, she can't win korra and Toph cos both Korra and toph can use rocks against her. Remember Korra is only ban from using the Avatar state. Azula is the next to be unalived. Korra has a fighting spirit and her will is strong. She never backs down and will never give up. How she fought Kuvira at the end shows how brutal she can be but Toph has the upper hand. Toph don't need to Earthbend Korra, metal bending alone will send korra to the afterlife. Toph is wining this fight.
Rance@son_of_uki

if the four of them got into a fight, who’s coming out alive and who’ll be the first to die? (no avatar state for korra, nd no full moon for katara)

After Mobil, Dr Olukoya of Mountain of Fire Ministry (MFM) was the second biggest financier of Athletics in Nigeria at the time. He primarily focused on the Junior category, and sponsored the National Junior trials for many years. When he withdrew from sponsoring these trials, the AFN struggled to hold the trials on their own without his financial backing. In fact, MFM was heavily involved in funding sports in Nigeria. A lot of Nigeria's great sports people owe a lot to Olukoya and his church. This is why, after many of Odunayo Adekuoroye's wrestling conquests, she would spend some time to thank Dr Olukoya. In fact, Adekuoroye even had a dedicated Nigerian flag with the MFM emblem to celebrate with after winning a medal for the country. Dr Olukoya and TB Joshua really pumped a lot of money into Nigerian sports.

Dr Olukoya sighted. These are untold stories of how churches have built talents. I believe he also had rewards for 1st class students in mathematics in Unilag back then. TB Joshua and some other pastors also had sporting academies for talents.
