@Seth_Duckworth This is really cool. It would have been even cooler if there was another in-state team. Perhaps NAIA #16 Oklahoma City University or NJCAA #2 Carl Albert State College.

Pat Summitt said, “My parents taught me a long time ago that you win in life with people, and that's important because if you hang with winners, you stand a great chance of being a winner.” Who you hang with matters! Here are 5 takeaways for us all... 1: Value Relationships - Recognize the importance of relationships in your life. Surround yourself with positive and supportive individuals who share your goals and values. 2: Choose Your Circle Wisely - Be selective about the people you surround yourself with. Opt for individuals who inspire, motivate, and challenge you to work for your goals and grow as a person. 3: Learn from Winners - Associate with individuals who have achieved success in their respective fields. By learning from winners, you increase your chances of achieving success in your own athletic pursuits. 4: Team Dynamics Matter - Understand that success extends beyond individual accomplishments. Emphasize the value of teamwork, collaboration, and creating a positive team environment. 5: Influence of Environment - Your environment plays a critical role in shaping who you become. By creating a supportive and winning environment, you significantly increase your ability to thrive and succeed. Always remember, you are the average of the 5 people you hang with the most. You control your huddle. Choose wisely! _____ Follow me @gregberge for more actionable ideas on coaching, leadership, and personal growth. Are there any NCAA rules that prevent schools from having their non-starters dual lower-division colleges? Ex. OSU/OU backups/redshirts vs. NEO/NOC/Carl Albert. Feels like it would be a win/win for all. Would be a big gate for the smaller schools, if they host.

@Seth_Duckworth Northern Colorado wrestled NWKT a Juco, Western wyoming wrestled Wyoming this year. Iowa Central used to wrestle Iowa also. The new rule allows redshirts to get up to 5 duals without using eligibility if I am not incorrect. Then you add non starters. Would be great to see more.

One thing I really struggle with is when people say this generation coming up is weak or soft. I’ll tell you one thing. Never have my failures been put on full display minutes or even seconds after they happened with the world commenting on it. When I played sports I had to wait until Thursday to see the local paper and even at that it didn’t have my strikeout record or that I went 0-3. It didn’t have a video or comments below it saying I didn’t deserve to be there, what happened to me, or how could I have let that happen? It’s not just wrestling it is all sports. These kids are held up on a pedestal of perfection for the amusement and entertainment of hoping to catch them fall. And before you guys ( my super fans) say “oh are you saying we shouldn’t post anything”- no I’m not saying that. I’m simply saying the next time you want to call someone in this generation weak or soft for the struggles they have, remember more than half of you commenting on them never have had your faults, failures, or defeats put on full public display. I know I didn’t. Even when Doug didn’t achieve what he wanted in the Olympics I had to actually search out message boards to read the horrible comments. I don’t have to search anything now. I can open any social media and not even be looking for it. I applaud all athletes that are brave enough to step out there knowing most times the wins are noted and the losses are highlighted. Another reason why your identity cannot be wrapped up in your results or the things you do.

"Do you wait until you have a cavity to go to the dentist? Then why would you just assume the only reason people go to therapy is because they have a problem?"- @schwabwrestling Couldn't love this man more for the truth he speaks and the vulnerability he shows especially if he knows it could make a difference to someone else.
