@_BenSaintJames_ @CertifiedLeggi Yeah! Some of the Red Bar staff even wore furry attire too lmao
I love to see it
English

@CertifiedLeggi One thing I've always enjoyed about MFF is that the hotel staff have always leaned into the Fandom. Even at the hotel I was at, Double Tree, the staff looked to enjoy it. One fellow at the front desk even wore a dragon pin on his coat lapel. Bar tender was a hoot, too.

@fiji_daze Oh are the touch pads not switching on/off or is the light itself going out when it should be on?
English

@LorneChrones @ellactrical @DawnOfShadow Yess it still looks amazing, other than the light going out, we just need to get that pen you told us about to get it working again
English

@NuriTheNurd That blows chunks. I'm sorry. I hope the next one pans out

one of the first lunar settlements will be named Moonbase Alpha

ALEX@ajtourville
Mars Update from @SpaceX • Goal is to build a fully self-sustaining city on Mars within the next 20 years — A fully self-sustaining city on Mars needs around 1 million people. Need to deliver millions of tonnes. • Our Starship Moon Lander will fly us to the Moon, where we will build Moonbase Alpha • Significant increase in the number of launches of our Starship V2 and V3 — 10 launches per day, 200+ tonnes per launch, 1.5 million tonnes per opportunity, 250,000 tonnes to Mars per opportunity. • The Starships V2 and V3 will be powered by our next-generation rocket engine, the Raptor 3

@liz_dente Someone made a Ublock Origin add-on that blocks like 950 ai websites AND disables the AI Overview 😌 I've been using it for a few days now and it's a game changer

@PaulTassi Remember 20 years ago when climate scientists told everyone warmer waters meant stronger and more frequent hurricanes?
English

@SAVoltolin We collectively must keep pressure on our elected officials to get these regulations on the books.
Regulations are written in blood, but they're forced into existence by public outcry and demand.
Just as the progressive era of the late 1800s/early 1900s we can demand change.
English

@LorneChrones We definitely need stronger regulations of such chemicals in general. But, they don't care who they hurt as long as they get rich doing it.
English

@RueNahcMohr @RoboticAITwit That's where I first learned about these transistors.
Robot Building for Beginners was a great hook for middle school me :3

Yeah there really needs to be a thorough look (if not already done so) at alternate means of fire suppression for chemicals such as these (sand? CO2?)
Its akin to trying to use water in a sodium-metal-using factory. Its just asking for trouble.
English

@LorneChrones When chlorine gas reacts with water, it is considered an exothermic reaction meaning it releases heat as the reaction occurs; this is because chlorine dissolves in water and forms hypochlorous acid (HOCl) and hydrochloric acid (HCl), a process that releases energy as a byproduct.
English

@RueNahcMohr For kicks I wonder if you could use a voltage reference IC to bias a varactor diode and then use the positive temp coeff of the varicap to tune the CMOS inverter oscillator.
It would be a Rube Goldberg way of doing Temp to Frequency but it'd be funny.
