This is better than the Circle proposal. Congrats, you are now their chief economist. The best outcome would be Kelp/AAVE/LZ/the L2s announced a shared recovery package that doesn't even touch umbrella. And they could loop someone in like Tether to join the deal with favorable terms.

When you don’t understand the core issue, you propose solutions that exacerbate the problem. Core issue: hack that could’ve been a nothingburger if the key players announced the recovery plan Saturday instead has been hanging for days with no proposal. That caused an unnecessary bank run. This accelerates the unnecessary bank run.

@StaniKulechov The best outcome for users is also the best outcome for the protocol and your company in the long run. The means are there to prevent weth depositors from unfair losses and it should be the only outcome being considered.

The past few days have been intense, but I wanted to give some updates as we continue to work on this. The Arbitrum Security Council also recovered $70 million in ETH, which could meaningfully reduce the potential exposure, and multiple discussions and solutions are being considered. I am confident we will move towards a strong resolution. Reviewing what happened and learning from it matters. But pointing fingers is not something that gets us to the other side of this. Every bit of my energy right now is focused on the outcome for Aave users and the protocol. Aave has been my life's work, and this is an important moment for DeFi as much as it is for Aave. I am deeply grateful for the support and collaboration we have received from builders and partners across the industry. We’ll get through this together and we’ll continue to publish updates on @aave as they happen.

Labs is not on the Guardian multi-sig so it makes sense that you would sign it. But again your priority is being on here scoring X points for something you took credit for just a couple months ago. Pointing fingers at colleagues (given ACI was just in wind down mode and is still doing things for DAO) is spineless. Goal is to do right for users.

"not directly affiliated" and "did not receive compensation" are narrowly true, but kelp was onboarded to aave (both ethereum and l2 networks) through proposals authored by kelp's angel investor.

@calbertoli80 @aave this is the only right answer. certain entities should also step up and offer to lend AAVE funds as needed to make users whole. There is no long term survival for aave if users get scapegoated like this.

@aave Governance failure shouldn't be subsidized by retail users. If @Aave doesn't protect everyone equally (Mainnet & L2s), the protocol's reputation is dead. Use the Safety Module/Treasury. Do the right thing.

Update on rsETH incident: WETH reserves on the Ethereum Core V3 market have been unfrozen and users can supply WETH to Ethereum Core V3 again. WETH LTV remains at 0. WETH reserves on Ethereum Prime, Arbitrum, Base, Mantle, and Linea remain frozen. Aave service providers will continue to work on next steps and provide updates accordingly.
