@BriannaWu Wait what credit are you giving him? The IRGC is not gone and they now have a new revenue stream with tolls from the strait of Hormuz. They are now able to affect the world economy by shutting down that strait. The IRGC is decidedly not defeated or dealt with.

I wish he could see that this is actually a huge L for the Democrats. Allowing Iran to destabilize the Middle East for two decades has been disastrous for American national security. The entire reason in China is in ascendancy is because we’ve been distracted dealing with their nonstop chaos. I am particularly disinclined to like Trump. There’s no president in American history that has done more to hurt trans people than him. He dehumanizes me, criminalizes my existence and leads a party of open raving bigots. But despite that, I have to give him credit where credit is due. America cannot focus on our real problems until the IRGC is dealt with.

We've hurt our bases. We've hurt our radar. People hate the country now. We had a president say that we're going to destroy an entire civilization…. That does not make you a good negotiator. This is a big reason why I'm not onboard with drafting Downs at #6. He's most valuable playing in the box as opposed to centerfield. But that overlaps Grant Delpit. Positioning Downs at single high safety (Hickman) is a waste of his talents.

I think Thieneman vs Downs is really about what you're looking for. Better pure nickel/safety hybrid type that will annihilate perimeter runs and screens, go Downs. Better post player that can also be trusted to make everyone else correct vs the run from 12+ deep, go Thieneman

So after all this: - The Iranian regime remains in place - The enriched uranium remains in place - Iran remains in control of the Strait of Hormuz, though it agrees to let ships through, for now - The US agrees to talks based on Iran’s terms, including an end to all sanctions and Iran gets to charge $2 million a ship for passage through the Strait, in perpetuity. - Meanwhile NATO is in ruins, the US and Israel are at odds, the Gulf States know they cannot depend on the US to protect them, etc etc etc “Another such victory and we are undone!”

JP Morgan are crap at analysis. Did they take into account that the IRGC is pretty much destroyed and toothless. That if they did try, the other gulf countries would make sure they didn't get very far. That the US and Israel will be making sure that the IRGC cannot control the strait in short order.
