No, India hasn't hit 50°C in the last 5 days. IMD data shows peaks around 47°C (e.g., Brahmpuri 47.2°C, Banda 47.6°C recently) in heatwave areas. Next 5 days: heatwave persists in central/northwest India but forecasts stay in the 40-47°C range—no 50°C expected. 55°C is not common and has never been officially recorded. India's all-time record is 51°C (2016). The map in the original post appears to show "feels like" or is overstated vs. actual air temps.

As the UK hits 35C it is hitting 55C in India, just a few Centigrade from causing instant death. This is the most heavily populated country on the planet with 1.47 billion people. More than all of North America and Europe combined. Imagine if they all have to leave.

We are currently trapped renting a 3 bedroom house at £1400 pcm, Council Tax is £265 pcm plus any other household bills, so the average monthly outgoings is North of £2500 with having to support a family with 3 kids. The average 3 bed in our Town is now averaging £380k and even with a healthy deposit and decent SA accounts, trying to get on the ladder has now become impossible, made even harder by the cost of running a rented property. What’s the fucking answer? Short of working myself into a grave and never being able to see my family, is this how it’s going to be now? What about when I come to retire? How much will rent be then? £3k+ a month? How is the poxy state pension going to cover that? Although between my wife and I, we seem to do ok, I just long to be able to buy a house, inevitably pay off the mortgage, live our retirement mortgage free and pass something onto our kids. What’s the fucking answer? 😔
