@hanihassan26 @Beirutspring I like your conclusion @hanihassan26 :*) though to be more finicky, both "virtual" and its translation "افتراضي" carry different nuances of meaning; I find their use in computing- to mean a digital rendition of reality- quite apt. Maybe virtually perfect?

@Beirutspring The word virtual itself does not carry the full meaning we ascribe to it in computing, as it also means 'assumed implicitly' as reflecting a certain reality. مجازي is more a metaphor than a virtual representation. إفتراضي may not be the best word, but neither is virtual 😁🤷‍♂️

Whoever came up with the translation “افتراضي” to mean “virtual”? Many months later, and it still rubs me the wrong way. The word “افتراضي” mostly means “hypothetical”. So every time it’s used to mean “virtual”, it sounds like an ironic joke.

@Beirutspring I get your point of course Mustapha, but it is worth remembering that people are more likely to listen and follow suit when they don’t feel antagonised. If that’s what it takes to encourage vaccination then fair play to him.

It is worrying that lebanese celebrities feel the need to justify taking the vaccine to their peers, as if this act somehow makes them uncool or outside of the norm. He even has to say that he “respects” their anti-vaccine opinions
