LOST SPORTS FACT that still blows minds...In 1970, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Dock Ellis dropped acid before a game... and threw a complete no-hitter against the Padres. He later admitted the baseball looked like a “melon” the whole time, he had no idea where his pitches were going, and he walked 8 batters. He only realized he was even pitching that day after he was already tripping. One of the wildest performances in MLB history happened while the guy was on LSD. ⚾️📷Drop a 🔥 if this is insane. What’s the craziest lost sports fact you know?

LOST SPORT FACT: Before animal rights: European nobles played ‘fox tossing’ slinging live foxes 20+ feet in the air with a giant cloth sling for sport. One royal event killed hundreds of animals in a single day. History’s most unhinged rich-people hobby. 🦊💥

⚽️ Wildest World Cup moment ever? 1930 Semi-Final: USA vs Argentina. American trainer sprints onto the pitch to treat a player… trips, shatters his chloroform bottle, and knocks HIMSELF out cold with the fumes 😂 He got stretchered off! The medic became the patient! Pure chaos as the USMNT kicked off their World Cup story. As we head into 2026 co-hosting… who’s ready for more scenes like this? Like if this made you laugh Comment your favorite crazy soccer story 👇 and repost! 🇺🇸⚽️🔥

⚾ Lost Sport Fact: The Bay Bridge Series! The Athletics (now in Sacramento but still Bay Area at heart) visit the Giants today in the classic cross-bay rivalry. What many forget? It all kicked off dramatically in the 1989 World Series, the “Earthquake Series.” A massive 6.9 quake hit right before Game 3 at Candlestick Park, delaying the series 10 days. When play resumed, the A’s swept the Giants 4-0. That was the first (and only) World Series meeting between the two, turning geographic neighbors into fierce rivals. Since interleague play began, they’ve battled annually for Bay Bridge bragging rights with the A’s holding a slight all-time edge. They even have a custom trophy for the regular-season series winner! Perfect timing as OAK @ SF goes down today. Who you rooting for in this battle of the bay? Drop your pick! Follow for more hidden sports history & today’s quirky matchups! 🏟️🌉 #BayBridgeSeries #Athletics #Giants

Golf has had some questionable moments. In 1949, during The Open Championship, Harry Bradshaw’s ball landed inside a broken glass bottle. Instead of taking relief, he smashed the bottle and played it. He ended up losing the tournament. Knowing the rules… helps. #Golf #SportsHistory

@VinnysCorner1 9-73 Philadelphia 76ers in ’72-73 😂 20-game losing streak, finished 59 games behind 1st place. They had a coach who got the job from a newspaper ad. Absolute rock bottom 🪨

Lost Sports Fact: “Terrible Tommy” Bolt, 1958 U.S. Open winner, was golf’s classic villain. He threw clubs like weapons, broke them over trees, and once heaved his entire bag all while crowds cheered the chaos. His temper was so bad it inspired rules against club-throwing. The game’s had love-to-hate characters for decades. Fire makes it fun. 🔥⛳

The hate for Wyndham Clark doesn’t make sense to me. People complain constantly that golfers are boring and show no emotion. But then you have someone who has a fiery, competitive spirit and that’s also a problem. I understand the need for a villain in sports but beating people down for every little mistake especially after they took accountability is just tiresome. I just feel that it’s been taken too far at this point.

The chalk has been ice cold at the Travelers lately 👀 Betting favorite has only won 1 time in the last 4 years: • 2025: Scheffler (fav) ❌ → Keegan Bradley wins • 2024: Scheffler (fav) ✅ → Scheffler wins in playoff • 2023: Scheffler (fav) ❌ → Keegan Bradley wins • 2022: Scheffler/McIlroy (co-favs) ❌ → Xander Schauffele wins Scheffler is once again the heavy favorite this week… but history says don’t be shocked if the upset happens! Who you got? 🔥⛳ #TravelersChampionship

LOST SPORT FACTS: Did you know that in the early 1900s, people actually played AUTO POLO?! Forget horses! Teams smashed around in Ford Model Ts, swinging giant mallets at a massive ball while passengers dangled off the running boards like absolute madmen. It started as a wild publicity stunt to sell cars in 1911, packed stadiums across America (and even spread to Europe), but it was pure chaos: cars flipping, players flying out, and doctors waiting on the sidelines for the inevitable crashes. By the 1920s it disappeared because… well, wrecking expensive cars every game got pricey real quick 😂 Who else wishes this sport made a comeback?! Drop your craziest “lost sport” ideas below 👇 Tag a friend who’d actually try this! #AutoPolo #LostSports #HistoryIsWild #VintageChaos

@karlravechespn @PerezEd @ESPN Did you know? Petco Park’s Western Metal Supply Co. Building (built 1909) is a saved historic landmark? Its SE corner literally is the left field foul pole! East face = HR, south face = foul. No traditional pole needed. Adaptive reuse GOAT since 2004. ⚾🧱 #Padres #Braves

😂 Angels with the 5-2-5-1-4 sorcery! But Cardinals fans still holding the crown 👑 Sept 2021 vs Cubs: 3-2-5-4-2-8-6 — Goldy to Yadi, rundown tag at 3rd by Arenado, then a full diamond relay with Edman, Bader in CF, and DeJong sealing it. Six fielders. Eight touches. Pure chaos. Y’all cooking but the Redbirds invented the microwave 🥵⚾️ #BaseballIsWeird

@FOXSports Lost Sport Facts: Poul “Tist” Nielsen of Denmark holds one of the most insane international goal-scoring ratios in football history. Between 1910 and 1925, this Danish centre-forward scored 52 goals in just 38 caps for Denmark — an average of about 1.37 goals per game!
