With almost all the Isle of May shags now fledged they are already on the move. About 2000 have been colour ringed this summer at the east coast colonies. All sightings are invaluable, please report to shags@ceh.ac.uk @UK_CEH @_BTO @SteelySeabirder @nature_scot

It was a pleasure to have the participants from the bird camp along to our site. The reaction on their faces say it all when they see the birds in the hand, hopefully the bird camp will inspire a new generation of naturalists and offer them a lifetime’s connection with nature.

We were delighted to partner with our friends @BTO_Scotland & @_BTO to lead the first ever Scottish Bird Camp– an exciting initiative connecting young nature enthusiasts with birds & one another. Find out how they got on on this magical weekend tinyurl.com/mujcsysb @LothianRG

News of sad demise of Sandwich Tern red-ESC found dead on beach at Hornsea 2 wks ago, once here back in 2017 coming directly over from Texel; I fear this will be the first of many now dead, but let's remember the fascinating insights gained while they were alive... @LothianRG

Truly amazing observations, thank you for all the hours everyone puts in to sighting and recording all these records in 2021! Makes all the voluntary hours that ringers put in all the more worthwhile!
