Like I’ve been saying for 48 hours, Sarandos and Zaslav are not stupid men. They were prepared for every rage fueled move that Ellison and Paramount were going to make. Sarandos has outmaneuvered Ellison at every turn in this process and he’ll do it again here. The son of an electrician and a homemaker outthought and outfought the spoiled, nepo baby and the baby is hopping mad. And Zaslav would have to be the most unintelligent CEO ever to not make sure to the utmost certainty that he had the overwhelming support of the WB Board before accepting the bid and beginning the process. Especially when it would only take 20% of the board voting against it to stop it. Paramount is just sound and fury right now, signifying nothing.

@madarbro @joecarlsonshow Regular theatrical releases wil be an outdated concept soon anyway. Theatrical releases are unnecessarily expensive, and cinemas are already dying anyway. Get some special screenings for movies with a visual impact and mak it an event. For the average movie, it's not needed.

The more I read about the Netflix & Warner Bros purchase, the more I believe it will go through. 1) Disney purchased Fox and they have more total TV watchtime than Netflix + Warner bros. 2) Netflix + Warner Bros is still less TV watch time than YouTube in the US 3) Paramount is a major movie studio and would lead to more firings if they purchased Warner Bros than Netflix 4) Ted Sarandos actually has become friendly to Trump, he has had dinners with him where they shared their love for movies - Trump has never publicly criticized him 5) Paramount funding sources are non-American. They want to partially fund the purchase with a Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds. This means the Middle East would now own a huge chunk of iconic American media assets 6) Warner Bros. current financial stress limits its ability to invest in content, distribution, and innovation. Netflix’s acquisition would strengthen the competitive landscape by stabilizing a key player rather than eliminating one. This results in more competition against Disney, Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube It will be interesting to see how this plays out. But I believe Netflix has a much stronger case than people argue online. They have a very good shot of closing this deal.

Harry's description of them is clearly coloured by his dislike, so they always felt more like caricatures than real people. I don't mind that being toned down.

The goal of Rightwing fiction authors is to prevent the entire market from being utterly subsumed by LitRPGs, Isekais, and Smut Romantasy novels. Anyone who is not on the same page does not understand what the situation on the ground looks like.

I might just call the US from now on the BS... the Bully States of America. Given the behaviour of its representatives, this seems appropriate. 🧐
