Stage 2 Science and Geography - Earth’s Environments and The Living World. Students will learn about marine species, classification and life cycles and hear about ways to protect environments like the Sydney Seahorse Project.

The Sydney Seahorse Project involves collection of seahorses and care for young to improve rates of survival. The provision of Seahorse Hotels provide artificial structures for seahorses to live on while other ecosystem restoration projects take place to provide natural habitats.

Operation Posidonia is an ecosystem restoration project that aims to restore damage seagrass meadows through planting of posidonia fragments, and the introduction of sustainable mooring techniques

Living Seawalls are panels made of eco-friendly concrete that are designed to replicate micro-habitats found in nature. The different textures provide spaces for a range of species in intertidal and sub-tidal zones. #livingseawalls #ecoengineering #theharbourschoolsydney
