@Snaqdragon I remember reading somewhere that when Ribbit was gone Jax tried to recreate what he had with Gangle and ended up projecting Ribbit's personality onto her bc them and Jax liked to jokingly insult and banter each other as part of their friendship

Hes also realising he hurt her. before, he wasn't mature enough to realise his "teasing" wasn't teasing, it was bullying and berating. Thats why he says "she likes when im mean to her" and doesn't insist on it when he sees her put distance between them. To HIM, it was friendship
