I went to Afghanistan for holiday and 3 days later the country collapsed, I hung out with British special forces and drank with them and got flown out whilst becoming famous overnight. My guess is that this same shift will happen for art. Fewer people who know how to do art by hand, which makes it a niche trade. Some parts of the market will supported by art enthusiasts who care about how something was produced, not just the final effect. But it will be small.

I don't think this is exactly right. My guess is that a lot of AI art will be similar to what has happened in the clothing industry: technology speeds up production, benefitting consumers. Only enthusiasts will care if something is made by hand or not. Will give examples. 🧵
