8 trollies removed from an IDB adopted watercourse today with another 8 discovered around the corner along with tree stumps all in an attempt to dam off the channel!! Thanks to @SwaleCouncil council members for supporting in talking to the local supermarkets about this. 👏

We thought this was a great reminder from @W4IDB & decided to steal~ (retweet) the post. Our Clerk is not a fan of Eels (they make her a little squeamish), but we are happy that our newly completed pump stations are fish friendly and will allow safe passage on their journey 🌎

The drain with a lonely pine? Swanpool pumping station and drain from the Water Rail Way near the old railway station at Stixwold. All part of the excellent work that the @WDIDB do to keep our feet dry!

@Chequertree1 We believe CABI were asked to consider Seasalter as a trial location for the little critters that eat Pennywort to help with their issue but unfortunately it wasn't selected. It would be good to see the outcome of such methods for sure!
English

@LowerMedwayIDB Thanks, is the biological control being tried there yet?

The LMIDB team clearing main river at Seasalter for @EnvAgency of super invasive Floating Pennywort. The channel was completely clogged!! Its not anymore. Great work sorting this guys!🦆🦢🌻

@Chequertree1 A great question! We scrub our weed basket and jet wash it on site then leave it over the weekend before moving to another watercourse. With disposal, the RSPB advised leaving it on site to rot. They have been dealing with it for years so we followed their advice.
English

@LowerMedwayIDB @EnvAgency How do you dispose of it safely and also ensure it doesn't get spread on your machinery to other sites? This plant is a nightmare...

A positive morning of engagement with staff and Board members today with a focus on @ADA_updates Environmental Good Governance Guidance and our Biodiversity Action Plans. Topped off after lunch with a (luckily) sunny site visit to a pump station.

What a great day on the north Kent marshes assisting RSPB @Natures_Voice for our annual team volunteering day. We cut back lots of willow to encourage regrowth to feed the many birds on the marsh and increase biodiversity, and created a willow fence as a hibernacula 🐜🦋🐦⬛🦤

Ominous looking skies as the team work hard to set up our emergency pumps to draw down water levels following a mechanical failure at one of our Pumping Stations. A big thank you to the local @EnvAgencySE ops team who have lent us some extra pipes and bits ! 😃 #teamwork
