Neighbors who live around @LowerPolk and @lowernobhill deserve safe streets and communities. The status quo of heavy traffic and dangerous intersections is not acceptable. The city has the tools to change this, it just needs the will to do so.

Traffic injuries and deaths are easily preventable. That they are still so common in our neighborhood is a tragedy.

@AaronPeskin, @jeffreytumlin we need immediate traffic calming intervention at these intersections and long term plans to reduce traffic volume and speeds throughout the neighborhood.

@SlowLakeStreet Creating truly livable streets requires a visionary leader/mayor who does everything in their power to make those streets a reality and policy to reinforce it. A few examples: 1️⃣ Superblocks (🇪🇸) 2️⃣ Woonerfs (🇳🇱) 3️⃣ 34th Ave Open Street (NYC) 4️⃣ School Streets and LTNs (London)

@JFKPromenade is an oasis for residents of dense, urban neighborhoods like ours. It’s not easy for kids in our neighborhood to find the space to ride bikes, skate or play outside safely. Car-free JFK gives us this space. youtu.be/1QXo34gGlU8
