Until that, it was incredibly low stakes (which is precisely what the WoL and Scions were looking for after Endwalker). Zoral Ja decided to make it more & we showed him that he was punching above his class.

That's the only way to square the circle with MSQ/Raid-related NPCs showing up for annual events. Add in the "story" told by them appearing. (Example being how Gaius and Allie were in costumes until this past ValDay.)
