Interesting thread on the U.S. News legal rankings, and it seems basically right. The basic idea: The rankings aren't helpful for the already savvy and connected, but they can be very very helpful for outsiders trying to get a ballpark sense of how to assess opportunities.

Independent redistricting leveled the playing field, giving whichever side won more votes a shot at control. A great result, not for Democrats, but for democracy. A decade of hard work by thousands in Michigan made it possible. @NotPoliticians @NancyWangVotes @KTeaFahey

This may be THE result of the night: Democrats appear to won control of the Michigan state goverment for the first time in at least 40 years. They flipped both chambers of the state legislature (tho they may need a tie-breaker in one), @GongwerMichigan is reporting.

@fawfulfan How does a person “actively determine” this, other than by asking their election officials?

@OrinKerr I get that, but think coining a new word risks perpetuating the notion that he is a category of 1, requiring or entitled to unique treatment.

@Lring86 But it's addressed at a different concept. I think there's plenty of room in the language to say both that (a) generally, Trump is unconcerned with whether his conduct is legal or illegal. and (b) specifically, some of his acts are legal or illegal. Two different things.

@OrinKerr It’s a neat word! But coining a new word implies a new word is necessary.

@Lring86 I don't think I follow why you think this is "disguising" Trump's illegality.

@AnthonyMKreis I stopped opening Con Law with Marbury years ago. We do Article I, then Article II, then Article III. Just like the founders intended.

@NateSilver538 No, this is not what makes it difficult. What makes it difficult is first past the post single member districts. There are forests of information on this.

The major parties in the US are *not* very ideologically coherent and *that's* what makes it difficult for 3rd parties. Rs and Ds are efficient at having claimed electoral real estate, often at the expense of principle, so there aren't many empty plots for 3rd parties to grab.

This, but eat at The Perch instead.

@AnthonyMKreis If you have a full afternoon/evening, take a walk across Port Meadow followed by drinks & dinner at The Trout. Also, halloumi sandwiches at the falafel stand on Gloucester Green. And a late-night snack from Hassan's kebab van.

So WISCT said no dropboxes unless at 'alternate voting sites'. Since election officials had already been operating under that rule, it won't change anything for the August primary or November Election. 1/4
