I love the remakes (except 3), but I also love the classic versions and players SHOULD be able to play both and get that chance to love them too. They are slowly becoming more accessible, but there's a lot of room for improvement there

@GongagaDaily If everyone knew how to emulate then why are collections being put out left and right with classic games and selling really well? Its almost like the casual player who may want to try classic games would rather just purchase the bloody game without needing to jump through hoops

@Lssjchloe The casual gamer also has no interest in playing re1-3 in 2026. Also it’s not 2006 anymore, EVERYONE knows how to emulate, not to mention, the overlap of people who wanna play the og re games, and people who know how to emulate, is basically 1 to 1

@Lssjchloe Good thing the game is available on basically every platform. Also everyone under the age of 36 who plays video games knows how to emulate. Coolest kids in school were emulating random shit on their iPhone 6’s in 2016. Most people simply don’t wanna play them

@bigfarded you are showing an N64 emulator. That has a completely different setup than PS1. Besides you are ignoring the point that the average person doesn't know how to acquire BIOS files and games. Providing those is literally illegal, if thats "built in" thats a copyright violation

@bigfarded while people like me and you may know how to do it, if you just ask a random person they wont know. Most people dont even really know how to use basic computer functions these days, emulation may as well be a foreign language to them

@bigfarded PS1 emulation requires a BIOS file and the ISOs. The average person doesnt know how to rip those themselves or where to pirate them from. You are ignoring the idea of people just wanting to boot up a game and play it without having to go through hoops to set it up the first time

@yourpalsatyr Switch and Xbox dont have it. Playstation and PC aren't the entire gaming market. 2 entire modern console ecosystems have no way to access these games. Also don't call me "bro" im a woman

The average gamer just wants to boot up and play right away no setup needed. Enthusiasts like us who know how to emulate are the minority

I just want them to be more easily accessible because the layman is not going to go through the effort of setting up an emulator. They just want a quick pick up and play solution and there are multiple platforms being ignored

@niersgestalt I feel like I personally have an easier time reading the original version when its in print compared to digitally. I guess it makes sense as the colored scans were made with digital screens in mind so it makes a smoother reading experience when reading on a PC or phone

even though i'm not reading jojo in color anymore i still get why people do because sometimes you get a page like this and trying to parse what's going on feels difficult

@YoRHa2Pee The only visual mod I use is to disable the mouths on PC for authenticity and more PS1-Accurate shadows. I genuienly dont understand how people can play with the model replacements that make characters look more realistic or like the 2D art, it just doesnt fit the art style

You’re really lame and boring if you can’t stomach the original FF7 models and need to replace them with mods

Ive noticed the same stock samples used in the soundtracks of different games. Great example of this would be TWEWY and Pokémon BW2 using the same stock vocals in "Dancer in the Street" and "Nimbassa Gym" respectively
