🔥INCREDIBLE DISCOVERY 🔥 Only 26 village schools in all of Northern Somalia under the British and they cost an exorbitant amount. (British Somaliland) The languages taught were English and Arabic Meanwhile in their first year of the revolution the XHKS built 200 schools +

In a speech Idi Amin declared that all whites should be removed from South Africa and “Siad Barre should show Africans how to reach Cape Town.”

Sayyid Mohammad Abdullah Hassan had riflemen within his army whose sole task was to eliminate British officers. During one confrontation, these Dervish riflemen called out to the Somaliland Camel Corps and urged them to surrender. The Camel Corps responded defiantly: "come and bring us." The Dervishes replied mockingly: "Ho you want ammunition, just come here and we will give you plenty." The Dervishes continued, boasting of their earlier victories: "We have defeated the English, Manning, and Plunkett, and killed them. We have their weapons, their clothes; see them for yourselves, and spare your lives." One British officer remarked that this was an “English quarrel,” indicating that English prestige and pride were now at stake, turning the Somaliland campaign into something they felt compelled to handle personally.

The perception that southerners were less qualified than northerners was one of the driving factors behind secessionism. Due to the Sayyid’s legacy and his campaigns against the British, northerners became hostile to all forms of education. As a result, the British hired Kenyans and Indians as civil administrators in the protectorate. By 1958, Indians held all the key posts in the British Somaliland Protectorate, and not a single Somali served as a minister. Unlike the north, where Christian missionaries were present but produced no Somali civil administrators, southerners did not convert to Christianity yet nevertheless took advantage of administrative opportunities between the 1940s and 1960s. As a result, the south developed a class of educated individuals who entered the civil service, a development largely absent in the north.
