I have to ask, WHY ELECTRON? 😓 I really love the approach to this, and the overall idea is solid! To clarify, do users have to always have this running in the background even when the app is not actively being used by the user? The FAQ seems to indicate that, however needing to have yet another chrome browser actively running in the background when not in use sounds quite taxing (especially when the user runs their loads of other vr apps already). If yes, I would suggest an ad hoc approach where the app updates its local database on launch, so there's no need to keep it running when it's not actively being used.
