Inclusion habit changes will be easier to maintain than exclusionary habit changes. Adding more fruit and veggies to your diet instead of not eating carbs for example.

Motivation isn't useless, it's the spark to initiate behavior change. Discipline won't fix all your problems, practicing constant discipline is unsustainable. Both are useful tools to make long-term lifestyle changes.

With new years coming up remember fitness goals are hard to achieve. I've never seen anyone pick an easy goal. Be nice to yourself when you stumble or fail. Reflect, learn, replan, and try again.

1) Don't over complicate your workouts. The basics work wonders. 2) Fit the routine into your lifestyle. Don't rearrange your whole life to workout for 2 hours a day, 30 minutes can be enough. 3) Make your workouts enjoyable. At least try to make it so you don't hate them.
