Australian GTA Online players Starting tomorrow will need to verify that you are 18 or older to play the online mode.
This is due to new R18+ rules enforced by the eSafety Commissioner.
Rockstar already has the age verification system prepared. You will likely see options such as:
- uploading government-issued photo ID
- facial age estimation (via selfie or video)
- credit card verification
The requirement applies only to online multiplayer (GTA Online), not to single-player mode.
If Rockstar does not comply, the company could face fines of up to AU$49.5 million per breach.
