This variant of “eat the rich” people think that their wealth won’t be stripped from them under socialism or communism. Despite the strange reasoning they use to convince themselves and others of an exemption to the effects of the ideologies they advocate for, the source of their wealth as well as their possessions will be state controlled. This matters because most of what they own comes from sources that these books would define as exploitative labor, which of course includes their car, house, clothes, and technology.
