Mercury stalled in the silence. She had gotten worse responses. Realizing the ants had crawled away, she knelt next to Lucius in the snow. “Sorry, I must’ve scared away the bugs- they’re cool, by the way!” She tried the introduction again. “My name is Mercury- what’s yours?”

Mercury peered behind the side of the school, gathering her courage to approach the boy she had been watching. “Um- hi! I’m kinda newish to the school, so I’ve only seen you around a few times- but I really like your- your outfit!” She smiled. Never was one to make friends.
