Easter Sunday supper, just a quick snack tonight. It only took two hours. Slow roasted pork topped with onion gravy, pan fried Brussels sprouts with a creamy Alfredo sauce and of course mash! If he puts ketchup on it he is a dead man. 🗡️☠️

Because let’s break this down— Easter usually means lamb. Lamb is a roast. And if it’s a roast… where exactly have the Yorkshires gone? Are we saying there’s a seasonal exemption? Do Yorkshire puddings clock off for Easter weekend like the rest of us? Or are we just letting standards slip in the name of chocolate eggs and chaos? I’m not having it personally. If there’s gravy on the plate, a Yorkshire pudding should be there doing its job like a professional. So before the family turns up, the arguments start, and someone inevitably burns something… Settle it: Yorkshire puddings on Easter Sunday—yes or no? @Cell6six6 @HazelArcher11 @models_by_Russ And there you fell into the trap. In the USA plain flour is not the same. Egg sizes not the same, a large here is a medium in the UK. and the milk here lasts weeks not three days like real milk does.

No need to buy that. Easy to make your own. In a bowl, start with 3.5 oz of plain flour. Add a good pinch of salt. In a second bowl, mix 3 medium-sized eggs, then add an extra white from a forth egg, this is crucial. Mix very well with a fork, not a whisk. Add the eggs to the flour and start mixing with a whisk, then gradually add full-fat milk until you get a nice batter. It should be about double-cream consistency, with no lumps and plenty of air whisked in. This will save you money over the premixed stuff. It’s as bad as using granular gravy… yuk 😩

Mmm, sorry everyone in Yorkshire are now rolling our eyes lol. Please don’t cook your Yorkshas in an air fryer. There’s only one way to do them. Super hot oven and lard. My Grandmother showed me how she did them and I’ve been doing them her way 40 years like this 😁 If you do do them in the oven make sure the fat is smoking. Don’t take the tray out of the oven. Pull the shelf out and poor the batter from a jug directly in. If the batter doesn’t sizzle then the oil/fat isn’t hot enough.

Tried making a crab loaf with fake crab. Like a meatloaf with chopped crab instead of ground beef. Massive fail. Fake crab does not mix well with other ingredients. Ended up with this thing. Tastes OK, presentation and texture is a fail.
