Tamara Blessing Kabura was just seven years old. Seven. A little girl with dreams, laughter and a life ahead of her until someone took it all away. She disappeared over the weekend. Her face, her name, her story spread online as her community desperately searched for her. Hope was alive. People prayed she would be found safe. But yesterday the worst possible truth was revealed. Tamara was found. Not safe. Not alive. She was defiled, murdered and buried in the home of a man known in Majengo area in Nyeri County. Her small body, stolen from the world in the most brutal way, now rests in a mortuary as authorities prepare a post-mortem. A suspect commonly referred as bebabeba guy is behind bars. We owe Tamara justice. We owe her a future she was denied. We owe her action. We must create a Kenya where women and girls can exist without fear of targeted killings.
