.@lululemon Hi lads, i tried your live chat but it is down. I got a pair of lovely little shorts from your EU operation. They’re fine shorts but the security tag is still on them. Will you send another pair or organise to have them returned. Wb if you get a chance. Thank you 😊

@RyanK_Bailey @IreMenHockey 5/ poor tech setup, inaccurate communication between the umpiring team, rules not followed on how decisions should be implemented, wrong people in place, poor quality decisions. They can plead the fifth on that last one if they like, the rest of it is on them though

FIH statement on decision to award Canada a penalty stroke. “Umpires’ decisions are final and, as a general principle, FIH does not comment publicly on individual umpiring decisions.” @IreMenHockey #tokyo2020

@RyanK_Bailey @IreMenHockey 4/ if you don’t have the camera angles and/or the people behind them choose drama over accuracy, you end up with that farce. @FIH_Hockey need to acknowledge that. They can’t hide behind it as if it was just an individual error on the pitch

@RyanK_Bailey @IreMenHockey 3/ video umpires offer two clear benefits. A better chance to see the incident - more angles, slow motion, repeat viewings. But also a chance to let the heat of the moment subside and make better, less emotional judgements based on the evidence

@RyanK_Bailey @IreMenHockey 2/ that the video umpire believed there was sufficient evidence to change the decision is extremely questionable. That he magicked a penalty stroke out of it is absolutely shameful

@RyanK_Bailey @IreMenHockey 1/ Dying seconds, home team, crowd behind them, Olympic dream on the line - I think it would have been harsh personally but I could imagine an onfield umpire giving a penalty corner in the heat of the moment and the video umpire giving “no advice possible”

@FIH_Hockey @FieldHockeyCan @irishhockey missed this “highlight”. People dedicate their whole lives for something to have it taken away by that disgrace. Video referrals were a joke from start to finish. Gift of hockey??

Maitland-Niles is a lovely footballer. Something in these double-barrelled surnames with young English players. We might have a team of them the way it’s going.

I can’t help but feel sorry for #CasterSemenya. People are not born physically equal. That’s why #Messi isn’t a goalie nor do you see Kenyans dominate in the pool.

Today I deactivated my @Instagram account, not solely because I’ve noticed I spend too much time on it (which I do) but the value I get from the platform isn’t comparable to the likes of @Twitter or @LinkedIn. Will update on how I cope without it

A week, three Irish jouranlists were in the press room for the game vs England; now, we are being doled out spots in the press stand as its set to be too full! #bandwagon
