Looking at this matchup I can instantly see two players, who should matchup really closely and this means instead of trying to pick a winner i’d rather go down to close match angle. Antonia Ruzic is someone I have watched come through the ITF circuits and break through into the top 100, I’ll admit she was a slower starter on the main tour but her hard court game is really polished, her court coverage is a game changer and best asset by far, she can hit the ball off both sides and thrives defensively in rallies, rarely committing errors with her only disadvantage being her weaker serve and lack of power. It’s no secret Elisabetta Cocciaretto prefers clay courts and is better on that surface but that’s not to say her game isn’t one that can’t adapt to hard courts, the medium paced courts have been great for her this week, covering the court and getting extra time on her shots to ensure she’s getting the best looks and she’s playing good tennis aswell, looks confident and again limiting errors. The reason I really love the over is I see two very similar players here. Ruzic and Cocciratto are both gritty baseliners, who rely on point construction rather than big serves or hitting winners. In a match like this what we expect is a-lot of break and alot of momentum swings. Take the over and thank me later. Ruzic 2-1 for a long-shot and because that’s our girl
