Advise to all Web3 Gaming teams and the direct advise I am giving to my portfolio companies: - Web3 Gaming in secondary has a deep lack of mindshare at this moment in time. - Teams often become too focused on the token price and driving speculators to purchase. - The real users you seek are not here in Web3 they are traditional Web2 players who simply enjoy playing games. - You must be relentless on complete frictionless onboarding and execution so the Web3 elements are completely abstracted away from the end user. - The token must have a wide ranging utility w/ real genuine recurrent sinks that fit directly into gameplay progression. - You should spend much more time on Web2 marketing than Web3 marketing. - The game itself should have Web2 and Web3 payment rails seamlessly integrated and provide ultimate optionality to the end user. Ultimately, there will not be a revival in Web3 Gaming until one team breaks the mindshare barrier which will only be a derivative of DAUs, solid retention, virality and strong revenue.
