Canadian 2026 RHP Lukas McDowell, an @OspreyBSB commit, turned heads this morning in Jupiter with three scoreless innings and three strikeouts to no walks. McDowell has a 6-foot-8, 245-pound workhorse frame with a powerful lower half and wide shoulders. He employs a long, whippy low-3/4 delivery and sat 91-93, touching 95 with a fastball that drew five empty swings and had carry through the zone. Also offered a sweeping low-80s slider and two-plane, high-70s curveball, which drew a pair of whiffs. Has a developing changeup as a distant fourth pitch. Not many guys fall into the 6-foot-8, athletic and touching 95+ bucket at 18. Intriguing prospect.
