@TheCupitals I feel like we see one or two NHL ready prospects cut next year for this reason. Leonard, Hutson and Miro (needs waivers I believe) will already be on the team. At the least, little Pro should be on the team. He’s looked NHL ready for months now.

I feel like Andrew Cristall is going to make the team next year. He's looked solid in Hershey. So does Ilya. I don't know how any of it works, genuinely. Teams hate having a big influx of rookies but I just know he's going to have a crazy good camp and impress.

@LukeCerpinTaxt @TheFutureCaps Not really a huge knock, no team is perfect drafting and even if the ordering is weird, it’s still a great draft for the Caps. Hutson seems like he would’ve been a steal at 17th overall. Protas also would go in first round in a redraft I’m sure.

@LukeAnthony28 @TheFutureCaps I do understand not drafting Gridin or Chern, no one really had them going that high, so I won't knock on Caps too much for that. I only get upset when there's an obvious choice they missed on (ie Johansen over DeBrincat).

I like Parascak, I think he’ll be a very good possession support winger but Connelly was at the top of my list at that pick. I understand not wanting to take a chance with his off ice issues but he’s be killer to have now. Imagine him on Pro’s wing.

@LukeCerpinTaxt So much to like about the Caps 2024 draft class, but the Parascak pick is a bit of a weird one. Not really big on him and don’t think the style of game he plays is worth a mid first, but we’ll see. They got Hutson in the 2nd and Protas in the 3rd to make up for it though.

@TheCupitals I agree Strome isn’t the most ideal 3 on 3 guy, I just think they should consider using him for the faceoff to try to get the first possession and have him immediately come off. Hutson would’ve been electric, not sure Carbery was even going to use him though lol

@LukeAnthony28 Yeah I mean when you get these decisions blowing up in your face there's only so much you can ignore it. It's the theme of the season. Dubois is justifiable because Strome is pretty slow, but I'd like to see Sourdif out there with Wilson and Hutson. Just a solid OT line.

I don't care who you take off the PP but if you keep starting the top unit without Hutson on it, you are not living in reality. It is quite arguable that Hutson has the strongest argument of literally any Cap to be on the top PP. He's literally the best playmaker on the team.
