@guardian_sport @maxrushden Why don’t premier league refs enforce the 6 second rule for goalkeepers? They routinely hold the ball for 10 or more seconds. How great would it be to have a handful of indirect free kicks in the box each game!

The bigger impact on performance will not come from what you do pre or post-exercise, but what you do on a day to day basis. Following a consistent eating schedule, consuming nutrient-rich foods, eating the proper portions & staying hydrated has a greater impact on performance.

There isn’t one universal diet that people should follow...but, I don’t think this counts as an alternative solution.

Food is fuel. Food is medicine. Food powers performance. Food heals injuries. Food brings happiness. Food unites people. Food facilitates growth. Food supports longevity. Food is life. Use the power of food to live a life of health & happiness.

I chose nutrition as a career path because I saw the potential & power that food can have on health & performance. If we just pay a little more attention to what we eat, we can impact our lives in a dramatic way. Remember - Our bodies are built from the foods we eat.

For any aspiring RD’s (and practicing RD’s), my #1 piece of advice would be to be passionate about this profession. Not only passionate about food & nutrition, but also passionate about helping people make impactful changes to their health & wellbeing.

@LukeCoreyRD I was taught about nutrition in school, except it was that a fat should be limited, salt should be reduced and that the bulk of my plate should be bread, pasta or rice. Assuming updated science is taught, than the classroom would indeed be the place it should begin.

Nutrition education must come from the classroom. The skills & knowledge required to live a healthy life should be taught to students in elementary & throughout high school. We can’t rely on social media & other media outlets to be our main source of this vital information.
